Born in Juba city, he was citizen of Centre Equatoria State (CES), of Kukwa ethnicity. He was honourably released from the Sudanese Military Academy in Khartoum and went on to join Wildlife as a drill instructor. He earned a diploma in Wildlife Sciences and Animal Protection Studies.
