Born in Juba city, he was citizen of Centre Equatoria State (CES) of Kuku ethnicity. He had lived with his parents at Kator West residential area near the cathedral.
His
academic journey started in ??? and and he earned diploma in the Air Navigation
Service which provides Sudan and South Sudan Air Navigation Services and
Meteorological Services for all operators within Sudanese Airspace. He trained
in Khartoum as Air Traffic Controller specialized in drones.
His
professional career started at Khartoum Airport where he worked as Air Traffic
Controller and transferred to Juba Airport where he assumed position of Senior
Manager of Juba Airport.
He was
engaged to Mrs. Rita Luka Kenyi, was about to get married at the time of his
arrest and from that day nothing was heard about him. It was obvious, he was
killed during the same week he was arrested. Taban was arrested alongside his
colleague on the allegation that he was spying for the SPLA, reporting on
arrivals landing and take-off of flights to and from Juba airport. He was loved
by everyone, a people person who helped many during the difficult time of
travel to Khartoum.
